Long - Term teachers are working with a fantastic special school located just outside of the historic town of
Taunton.

Their aim is to support pupils' growth through They provide a safe and supportive environment where learning becomes an enjoyable experience, embodying the Keys Group values of Excellence, Passion, Integrity and Caring.

In 2019, the school were the winners of the Positive Behaviour Support Award at the National Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards.


Students at the school will have
speech and language delay, impairments or disorder, along with Autistic Spectrum Conditions and/ or moderate and severe learning.


Your main duties will include covering lessons, there may be some planning involved within the role, so it is essential you have a strong knowledge of primary UK curriculum.

It is essential you are able to deliver lessons that are accessible for the needs of the students and you are promoting a positive working environment.


  • Have a good general level of education, including Maths and English GCSE grade C/5 or above, or further relevant experience in the absence of formal qualifications
  • Have NVQ level 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent
  • Have experience of working within the primary curriculum
  • Be confident with teaching both groups of children and a whole class, in the absence of a teacher
  • Have high expectations of all pupils' achievements and behaviour, and a commitment to raising standards
  • Have the drive and motivation to create inspiring learning environments and engaging resources
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to working as part of a team, being able to communicate effectively with colleagues and external agencies
  • Be organised and able to show initiative, reflecting on their own practice
  • Be motivated, with a good sense of humour and an eagerness to learn and develop professionally


The role will be working full time, Monday to Friday, term time only, between the hours of 8:30am - 3:30pm.
