A critical role within TTS (Thales Training and Simulation) with visibility of all the projects across TTS

Working on a number of high profile, diverse and exciting projects and bids

Working across a number of projects to create and develop safety cases


Our Opportunity


Thales Training and Simulation (TTS) have a new exciting opportunity for a Safety Assurance Manager to join the team, who make simulators for various military platforms and provide operational training to the end user.


This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Safety Engineering team who are responsible for the safety of the products and project solutions developed and deployed by the business line and compliance to safety principles, industry specific standards andbest practices for the development of safe solutions.


Responsible for providing technical safety leadership to the project/product team, and ensuring the safety strategy, developing and continuously improving safety methodologies, execution of safety engineering activities in accordance with the company's process,applicable industry standards, best practices and sharing expert knowledge.


Working closely with all members of the Bid/Product/Project team, especially the SEM, PDA and Solution Architect, as well as the customer and end user communities.


About You

  • Experience within functional safety management together with knowledge of Defence Standards , &
  • Experience in a senior technical role in complex systems development together with a good understanding of systems engineering, software engineering and functional safety together with the following:
  • Detailed knowledge of system safety lifecycle, system requirements definition, safety design concepts (system and software), safety and risk analysis
  • Experience with safety standards (CENELEC, IEC, IEEE, MIL), best practices, safety methods and techniques (HAZID, HAZOP, PHA, SHA, OSHA, FTA, FMEA/FMECA, FSA) and hazard management
  • Ability to lead and coordinate technical staff
  • Good technical writing skills, excellent communication and analytical skills
  • An effective team player who can interface at all levels

Applicants should be holders of or eligible for SC Level security clearance.
