Your role at a glance
Would you like the opportunity to join an emerging Procurement Team in a FTSE 100 business?


Due to exciting transformation, we are pleased to announce an opportunity for a confident, ambitious, and pro-active individual, with some previous experience working in Procurement, to join our Procurement & Supplier Management team (GPSM) as the Sourcing Specialist.


In this varied role you'll undertake support for sourcing and associated activities on behalf of the company in accordance with policies, process, regulations, and risk appetite with the objective of ensuring value is maximised and risks are managed appropriately.

This will entail you working with stakeholders across GPSM and supporting sourcing and change activities as required.

What you'll be doing

  • Planning and execution of allocated sourcing activities as required ensuring they are in accordance with policies and practices
  • Manage requisition queues and purchase order approvals including followup of queries/incorrect documentation to ensure all transaction are in accordance with policy
  • Support sourcing teams by undertaking spend analysis and evaluation with a view to identifying anomalous spend and potential opportunities in line with Group strategy
  • Producing project reports and other MI, in a timely and accurate manner, as required
  • Ensuring records are kept in accordance with requirements and expectations including but not limited to contract and supplier records and maintenance of the pipeline
  • Initial point of contact for new procurement enquiries and ensuring demand is captured appropriately, providing prompt, professional and courteous support to "how do I" enquiries from internal stakeholders
  • Carry out all Sourcing activity in line with the company's Consumer Duty accountability

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role you'll need excellent organisation skills. Having the experience and ability to prioritise a busy workload, and to work to deadlines will be essential.

As the function continues to develop, you'll have the ability to be flexible in a continuously changing environment, showcasing your adaptability and ability to work both independently and within a team.

Here's some of the experience that we'd love to see:

  • Previous experience working in a Procurement support or Contracts Governance position would be desirable
  • Deal confidently with issues that arise and resolve or escalate as appropriate. Seek proactive resolution and continuously suggest ways to improve existing processes and procedures
  • The ability to produce reports and presentations in a wellstructured way.
  • Data driven, numerate, and an ability to handle data analysis activity.
  • Can easily build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Take a proactive approach to coordinating activity, assisting peers and sharing knowledge and expertise.
