Creative Assembly is looking for an experienced VFX Artist to join our talented team to work on HYENAS, our exciting new first-person shooter.

This role will be based at our headquarters in Horsham, in the heart of West Sussex.

In the role of VFX Artist you will create effects for an innovative console title and will have the opportunity to develop alongside some of the best creatives in the industry and shape the game.

Flexible working at Creative Assembly includes hybrid, fully remote for eligible roles, and in-studio.

We recognise that there is no one-size-fits-all approach and empower our teams to define the working patterns which work best for them, which may mean different things for different teams and roles and at different times.

This role can be offered as hybrid, in-studio and/or fully remote within country of employment. Further details can be discussed during the recruitment process.


Key Responsibilities


As a VFX artist on the team, you will be creating high quality, performant visuals in line with art direction for the project.


On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Work with other project disciplines across the project to maintain an efficient pipeline
  • Brainstorm and prototype new ideas and solutions
  • Collaborate with production, the project art leads and the wider team, communicating clearly in all directions
  • Produce high quality and performant visuals, as an integral part of the team
  • Communicate well, with all disciplines, and be well organised.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience

Essential

  • Ability to create and implement world class VFX
  • Excellent visual awareness and artistic ability
  • Experience of working in a professional creative environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of:
  • Proprietary and off the shelf particle editors
  • Photoshop and After Effects
  • Developed understanding of contemporary shader features and creation workflow
  • Strong awareness of industry technology trends.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of UE4 and Niagara
  • Knowledge of Embergen
  • Knowledge of Houdini and its use in realtime game VFX.
