We are currently recruiting for an Investigator to work for Leicestershire Police within the Investigator Economic Crime Unit in Tigers Place.

This is a temporary ongoing position working Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.

Job Role/Purpose:

To work within Legislation to protect the public and prosecute those offenders who commit financial crime offences and in bringing them to justice, identify and confiscate criminal assets for the benefit of victims.

Core Responsibilities/ Accountabilities


Operational:


  • To investigate financial crime offences such as Fraud, Money Laundering, Bribery etc using the relevant legislation to bring offendersto justice and provide victims with positive outcomes.
  • To identify criminal assets by both reactive and proactive criminal investigations using all available intelligence, evidence and other Information.
  • Conduct investigations where an investigation is necessary including any deskbased enquiries
  • Assist with the preparation of court files Conduct searches as needed for the investigations they are conducting.
  • Assist with planned arrests and processing the resulting prisoner
  • Undertake such other duties commensurate with the post as may be required for the safe and effective performance of the job.
  • Interview Suspects.
  • Interview victims and witnesses and obtain witness statements process exhibits
  • Provide care for victims and witnesses.
  • Prepare and submit case files.
  • Present evidence in court and at other hearings.
  • Use information/intelligence to support policing objectives.
  • Complete administration procedures.
  • Comply with Health and Safety legislation.
  • Maintain standards for the management of information.
  • Maintain standards of professional practice.
  • Make best use of technology.
  • Promote equality, diversity and Human Rights In working practices.
  • Work as part of a team.
  • Contribute to and maintain the police commitment to national security.
  • Seek to solve identified problems through analysis, targeted operations and teamwork.
  • Effort will be concentrated on Local/Area/Force priorities.
  • Communication: Be able to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable way by whatever medium, to a variety of audiences being aware and understanding of Equality and diversity whilst acting as an ambassador of Leicestershire Police.
Essential Criteria

  • To be educated to 'A' level standard in both English Language or demonstrate recent experience of working at a level requiring the use of English Language to that standard or demonstrate significant past/present experience of working in an investigative environment
  • To demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • To demonstrate knowledge and use of relevant legislation such as the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and the Fraud Act 200
  • To demonstrate proven experience of evidence gathering techniques In preparing prosecution files or other reports
  • To be a highly selfmotivated individual who can work with mínimal supervision whilst also contributing to the team environment and to demonstrate a flexible approach to the changing demands of the role
  • To demonstrate experience of managing a demanding workload and being able to prioritise that work to meet deadlines
  • To hold a full current driving licence
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Packages such as Microsoft. Word, Excel etc
