Groundworking Skills Coachto join our team based in
Walsall.You will join us on a
full-time, permanent basisand in return, you will receive a competitive salary of
£30,000 - £45,000 per annum plus benefits.

The Groundworking Skills Coach Role:


You will deliver engaging and effective off-the-job training sessions to groups of apprentices, and development on a one-to one basis, as well as assess occupational competency in Groundworking.

You will ensure excellent apprentice attendance, retention and achievement whilst also undertaking site visits to assess competency and involve employers in apprentices' development.

Additionally, you will support students to develop their English and maths skills.


Key responsibilities as our Groundworking Skills Coach:

  • Deliver engaging, effective and innovative group training sessions to apprentices
  • Develop, plan and deliver a programme of training that leads to good outcomes
  • Deliver inspiring training that meets criteria and standards for apprenticeships
  • Manage apprentices and their Individual Learning Programmes, closely monitor and review progress
  • Ensure that training delivered meets employers' needs
  • Conduct & use initial assessment effectively and set apprentices appropriate, but challenging, targets & goals
  • Assess portfolios and provide regular supportive, developmental feedback
  • Conduct and document meaningful reviews of progress
  • Conduct timely one-to-one visits with apprentices in the workplace and support and facilitate progress
  • Involve employers in assessing apprentices' progress and development

As our Groundworking Skills Coach you will need:

  • A full driving licence with access to a car
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in groundworking
  • An English & Maths qualification at Level 2 standard (GCSE)
  • To be able to deliver effective training sessions to groups
  • To be able to work one-to-one and set challenging targets to apprentices/students
  • To be able to persuade & influence others and deal with conflict/challenging behaviour
  • To be able to build rapport with target group and retain their attention during training sessions
  • To be able to assess work and complete observations against standards and criteria
  • To be able to work well under pressure as well as to targets & deadlines
