We are looking for a Corporate Communications Lead to join us at the Hemerdon Mine in Devon to help us restart this world class asset.


To be successful, you will need a relevant qualification in communications, PR or journalism and/or have significant experience working in a fast-paced, high pressure in-house communications team or agency.

You will need immaculate copy-writing skills and some experience in managing digital channels including websites.


Working at our unique and spectacular site, this fantastic role, reporting to the Managing Director, will be focused on creating, planning and delivering communication activities to help raise the profile of the business, share information with various audiences and build the organisation's reputation as a source of critical minerals in the UK.


The role will be responsible for leading efforts in the following areas: internal communications, external communications including maintenance of the Tungsten West website and social media channels, media management work and brand building to ensure the Tungsten West brand is recognised and associated with excellence.

Responsibilities:


  • Work as a professional, upholding the standards of best practice at all times.
  • Colead on the development and implementation of the Stakeholder Engagement Plan alongside the Stakeholder Engagement Lead, with oversight from the ESG Manager
  • Regularly liaise with the Executive Team to create communications on behalf of the business
  • Manage the relationship and achieve maximum value for money from the Financial PR Agency contract, ensuring outcomes in the tender document are satisfactorily delivered
  • Work with the Chief Finance Officer to plan and oversee the delivery of an annual PR calendar for all financial disclosure and reporting requirements, alongside the Financial PR agency
  • Work with the Chief Finance Officer and colleagues in the Finance Team to create and publish a set of professionally produced annual accounts
  • Create and implement all policies and procedures relating to corporate communication activities including media management and social media
  • Develop and deliver training as required to ensure communication policies and procedures are embedded across the organisation
  • Maintain the Tungsten West website and any subsequent subsidiary or related websites
  • Maintain the Tungsten West social media accounts
  • LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook
  • Commission and act as custodian for all video and photography required by the company
  • Oversee maintenance of the photographic library and consents required for individuals appearing in pictures
  • Work with the Stakeholder Engagement Lead to support community relations activities, such as promotion of the Community Investment Fund and creating press releases for community initiatives
  • Work closely with the HR Team to develop and implement a calendar of internal communications and events for Tungsten West staff, as well as the daytoday delivery of internal messages
  • Work closely with the HR Team to develop and implement recruitment communications and job adverts, helping to build the Tungsten West workforce and promote the Employee Value Proposition
  • Work closely with the HR Team to develop and embed the company's culture and values
  • Work with the Managing Director and HR Director to produce a monthly MD Update for circulation to all staff
  • Draft and achieve sign off for communications as required by the business including press releases, web and socials content, presentations and internal communications
  • Act as brand guardian for the business oversee the creation and sign off of all communications and marketing collateral, ensuring it is in line with brand guidance
  • Monitor and report progress against the Stakeholder Engagement Plan and any communication specific targets to the Executive Team, Board and funders as required
  • Provide cover for the Stakeholder Engagement Lead where required due to holiday, sickness or other absence
  • Any other communicationrelated duties considered reasonable and required by the business
