The Learning Disability Service provides inpatient and community care services on a Fife-wide basis for people with varying degrees of learning disability from mild to multiple and complex.

We require a part-time Clerical Officer, to provide admin / clerical support to the medical secretarial team.

Primarily you will provide an administrative and secretarial service to clinical and medical staff engaged in Care Programme Approach processes.

You will also be involved in Health Record management.


Relevant and up-to-date admin / clerical experience is required as is the ability to prioritise and deal with the day to day workload in a busy environment.

You will be required to work both independently and as part of a team.


Hours will be worked to meet the needs of the service which may include changing your working days if this is required (not weekend).


The role requires some interaction with clients & carers and it would be helpful to develop a level of understanding of mental health and learning disability issues.

A caring, patient and calm nature is essential.

You will be expected to attend in-house training opportunities for personal development and ongoing learning.

Reasonable knowledge of the NHS is desirable and knowledge of medical terminology and/or previous experience of working in a health care setting will be advantageous.

You may at times be required to travel between locations within Fife.

Please note the salary for this post is pro rata to part time hours.
