Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join our established play service.

We are keen to support learning & development and we would love to hear from you if you can demonstrate the following:

Hold a minimum Level 3 qualifications in Playwork/Child-Development/Childcare/Early Childhood studies or equivalent level 3 healthcare qualification.

Have a good foundation of experience working with children & young people, including awareness of those with additional needs.

Have a keen interest in the important role of play for all children.


Main responsibilities include:

Planning & delivering daily activities suitable to the age & stage of the child/young person

Liaising with parents/carers/ staff about developmental play needs

Creating & carrying out care plans for normal play activities

Preparing play/activity resources for the play service

Maintaining equipment, including cleaning, in line with hospital infection control guidance & Health & Safety.

Referring patients to a Healthcare Play Specialist where required, for therapeutic input or medical play.

Documenting daily play input

Sharing important information with other professionals

Help to create a welcoming, safe and age appropriate environment for all children & young people.

Co-ordinate special events and celebrate children's successes/achievements regularly
