Project Management Technical Apprenticeship Programme


In this role you will be working with a team of experienced planners assisting in the planning and delivery of a wide range of construction projects.


The main duties of the role include:

  • Establish and promote best practice in health, safety and environmental matters in conjunction with the SHQE department.
  • Assist the Project Planner as directed.
  • Assist the Project Planner with evaluation of Project tender documents in order to build detailed tender programmes specifying time and resource requirements.
  • Liaise with members of Work Winning Teams during the Tender process as required and assist with coordination of their input into planning matters.
  • Development of tender programmes into construction programmes.
  • Production of programmes throughout the duration of live Projects.
  • Coordination of input into the programme from the construction team.
  • Review construction progress with input from the construction team, update programmes and produce reports as necessary under the Supervision of the Project Planner.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Attend site regularly to assist site teams with planning matters.

What qualification will I receive through the apprenticeship?


As part of this apprenticeship you will follow the Project Management Technical Modern Apprenticeship (SCQF 8) which takes up to 2 years to complete.

At the end of the apprenticeship, you will achieve a Diploma in Project Management at SCQF Level 8 (includes APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) at SCQF Level 7).


Where will I be based on the apprenticeship?
We are recruiting for this apprenticeship across various projects in Northern Scotland. Due to the remote locations of some of our sites, applicants must be willing to travel as required.

Due to the nature of our work and size of our sites, we may require you to have a full clean UK driving licence.


What do I need to be considered for the apprenticeship?

  • National 5 Maths & English at grade A-C (or equivalent qualification at SCQF 5 and 6)
You must also have attained or have attained by September 24, one of the following:

  • You don't need to have previous experience for the role, but you do need to be ready to learn, have a positive mindset and a can-do attitude
  • Eligible to work in the UK with a valid work permit if applicable. Please note, that we do not provide sponsorship.
