Do you have experience of managing import and export documentation in a freight-forwarding environment? Read on, we're looking for an Import Operator to manage freight for a new customer be based at our site in Heathrow, on permanent basis.

What you'll do on a typical day:

Import bookings with international/national agents; sea freight carriers and airlines
Investigating, quoting & planning the most appropriate route for a shipment considering the nature of goods, cost, transit time and security
Obtaining & checking documentation to meet customs, packing specifications, and compliance with other countries' regulations. Obtaining information to compete customs declarations in the UK
Utilise internet technology to support customer tracking of goods whilst maintaining communication and control through all phases of the journey

What you need to succeed at XPO:

Previous experience and working knowledge of Import operations and main transport methods
Proven problem solver, with a keen eye for detail and respect for confidentiality
Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in both a written and verbal capacity
