Job Description:

Key Responsibilities- Lead regular sprint cadence (incl.

key sprint ceremonies such as sprint planning, review, retrospective, daily huddles and daily team check-ins), ensuring necessary scheduling, attendance, facilitation and team participation.- Coach team members in effective use of Agile ways of working and drive continuous improvement of Agile adoption/maturity, ensuring improved visibility of work, utilization of appropriate tools and ultimately Spring progress.- Identify and mitigate roadblocks that can delay the completion of deliverables.- Support team in overcoming roadblock and/or addressing team-related conflicts when they arise.- Support the Product Owner / Project Manager to prioritize and maximize value/outcomes delivered by the team.- Support Product Owner / Project Manager to facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration with leadership and other stakeholders outside the team.- Understand key business objectives and strategy of the program, and communicate this to the team.- Ensure Product Owner / Project Manager and team members are aligned on key requirements for each deliverable.- Ensure that project work is prioritised by business value and that results align with objectives.- Facilitate process of deciding which stories will be included in each sprint through understanding team's velocity and story scope / size, and support team members to define and allocate which stories they will work on.- Facilitate process of working with product owner and team to re-balance and re-prioritize work within a sprint.- Protect team from distractions and interruptions by people outside the team.- Understand overall project roadmap and help team fit their work into this roadmap.- Provide visibility into progress by maintaining burndown charts, velocity analysis, etc.- Hold team accountable to 'definition of done' to ensure quality of deliverables.- Track the team's overall productivity / effectiveness and other metrics (inputs, outputs, and outcomes) on an ongoing basis.- Facilitate retrospectives to identify ways to improve team's delivery, and lead effective implementation of changes, alongside coaching team to higher agile maturity.- Create a culture of transparency by making work visible, and support others to visualise progress through tracking velocity and sprint / release progress.- Support the evolution of Ultra's organisational Agile maturity, working with key stakeholders to identify opportunities to further embed Agile ways of working and culture throughout the organisation.- Work with leadership team to coach on Agile maturity and ensure positive behaviours and interactions.- Maintain Jira and keep the product backlog current and visible to the team.

Qualifications / skills required


Personal attributes- 2+ years experience as a Scrum Master (Scrum Master certification preferred), with deep understanding of Agile development processes and methodology.- Bachelors in Engineering or Computer Science, or business-related field.- Experience in a technical or engineering role (Aerospace and Defence experience, and also experience within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment combining software and hardware functions, with a focus on systems engineering and integration both preferred, but not necessary).- Experience leading a team of 5+ team members, with demonstrated ability to coordinate across multiple people and/or deliverables in a team setting.- Experience of using Jira and Confluence in a Scrum setting.- Demonstrated ability to provide effective servant leadership to the team to support them to move fast and unblock impediments- Demonstrated ability to understand business needs and execute on a business strategy.- Able to lead/facilitate meetings and team activities.
