Commercial Account Officer:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the successful Commercial Services team which are responsible for managing the garden and trade waste services delivered by Dorset Council's Waste Team.

The service provides garden waste collections, along with a range of waste and recycling collections to businesses to over 55,000 customers across Dorset.

You will be working as part of a supportive and enthusiastic team and receive a full programme of training.

The role will also offer the opportunity to develop and strengthen account management, customer service and marketing skills along with the opportunity to contribute to a range of projects which supports the service's digital transformation.

About you:


  • You will have excellent customer service skills and experience of managing and processing customer requests to a high standard.
  • We are looking for someone who has:
  • Significant experience in an administrative role, using computerised systems
  • Experience of successfully working in a team
  • Experience of customer care
  • The ability to multitask
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • The ability to work with minimum supervision and to use initiative

The role is mainly office and home based with occasional travel across the county which will require the ability to drive and have access to a vehicle (or transport we deem suitable) available for use as needed.
