Description

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the provision of an efficient, focused administrative service, supporting the achievement of the service and to organise and plan the work of administrative and secretarial services across the range of administrative functions that underpin the patient pathway.


Co-ordinate the administrative function within the teams to deliver an efficient and effective service that supports clinical service delivery, service management, service users and carers.


Responsible for ensuring compliance with Trust policies and local protocols for Data Protection, Health and Safety, Security and Fire Safety within the administration team.


  • Line management responsibility for band 3 and band 4 administrators within your services.
  • To manage all administrative functions within the teams.
  • To monitor individual and team performance and make recommendations for improvement where required.
  • To provide a secretarial support service as required, to the clinical service leads, including diary management, typing of letters, reports and any general correspondence as requested.
  • Produce reports, spread sheets and correspondence to a high standard, ensuring accuracy and good presentation at all times.
  • Identify and develop changes to practices, procedures/policies and implement changes in own teams.
  • Use initiative and support the general management of the administration department by providing a focal point for queries in the absence of senior manager.
  • Investigate any concerns arising within the teams and propose resolution.
  • Plan and coordinate your workload autonomously, ensuring all deadlines are met and objectives achieved, seeking advice from line manager when necessary.
  • To undertake ongoing personal development through participation in appraisal and supervision.
  • To attend and participate in relevant training identified through supervision and appraisal.
