BDS have an exciting opportunity for a community response worker to form part of a team in Berkshire.


The post holder will work from home and respond to emergency call outs and welfare checks to older adults in their own homes.

The service supports clients who have recently been discharged from hospital and have had telecare equipment installed.

The role holder will respond to calls that have been screened and triaged and an operator feels a physical response is required.

All company equipment and PPE is provided.

There is no personal care involved and call out volume is on average one call per day.

The role is to work 3 days on and 6 days off on a rolling rota. The role is 24 hour on-call for the 3 days on.

You will be an approachable and empathetic person who is flexible, committed and reliable.

Previous experience in a similar role is not necessary although experience in a care, support work or housing background would be an advantage.

A full driving license will be required and access to your own vehicle.

For an ideal logístical fit you will live somewhere in Reading or the surrounding areas.

You will be paid an on-call retainer of £55 per day plus £10.42 per hour for call outs.

You are guaranteed 3 hours pay per day regardless of whether or not you attend any call outs, however hours normally exceed this.

Overtime for is paid at £10.42 per hour.

Minimum daily pay, regardless of whether you attend any call outs - £86.26

Mileage is paid for all call outs at 45p.
