An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Britten Norman. We are now recruiting for a Security Controller to join our business based primarily at our Lee-on-the-Solent site.


This role is a responsible for maintaining and developing the security function at Britten-Norman, an area which is crucial to the success of our business.

You will be responsible for managing a security team that provides 24/7 cover to the companies sites meeting that standards set out by the Security Policy Framework/ GovS007.

What we are looking for

  • Two years experience in a defence industry/ MoD security controller role
  • Two years of experience as a supervisor or above in a security team.
  • Recent List X/ FSC site security experience
  • Security Policy Framework experience for a minimum of three years.
  • A security management qualification or SIA license.
  • 5 GCSEs including English & Maths at Grade C/4 or above.

More about you

  • Ability to handle security material effectively, ideally including cryptographic material.
  • Understand of the Official Secrets act and GDPR guidelines are essential.
  • Leadership in and the ability to react to pressured situations
  • Effective management of a team.
  • Communication effectively among stakeholders at different levels of the business to both educate them on security matters but also to persuade them of any changes required.
