Description

We are working with an exciting new client who are a
highly reputable and well-established precious metals firm. They are seeking to hire leader of their new Compliance department to
create and build a team, as well as, develop their
compliance framework and financial crime controls.


The
Head of Compliance & MLRO will be hired to
evaluate current framework,
build, improve and enhance AML processes, take lead on building a robust compliance strategy and
ensure regulatory requirements are compliant.

This role will have 1 direct report with a view to grow the Compliance team.


Responsibilities:


  • Monitor the adequacy and effectiveness of the Company's measures and procedures.
  • To provide open and honest regulatory liaison, building a strong working relationship with regulatory bodies.
  • Providing advice and guidance on compliance and risk to all members of the organisation.
  • Assisting in responding appropriately to alleged breaches and noncompliance with applicable regulations and policies.
  • Staying abreast with regulations with regards to the precious metals market, and ensuring that the the firm's activities are compliant.
  • Contribute to the strategy and business planning, notably from a risk and compliance perspective. Develop and embed a strategic approach to risk and compliance.
  • To ensure that the Function is appropriately resourced and directed such that it is effective in delivering appropriate advice, guidance and challenge to the business on risk and compliance matters.
  • Liaise, communicate and support other teams such as Finance and Sales departments.
  • To be a trusted advisor to the business to help achieve good client outcomes and positive regulatory relations.
  • To maintain an independent mindset and effectively challenge where necessary to achieve a robust second line of defence.

Requirements:


  • A proven senior Compliance professional/ MLRO with a minimum 7 years of experience.
  • Ideally hold a background in precious metals/ physical commodity space.
  • A selfstarter and has previous experience in building a compliance and financial crime framework from a scratch start scenario.
  • Ideally demonstrate professional qualifications such as the ACAMS or ICA.
  • Willing to learn about gold Bullion industry and the relevant regulations.
  • Hold a commercial mindset partnered with a strategic mindset.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills to nurture a versatile team.
