Are you looking for a career where you can really make a difference? Come and join us as a Finance Business Partner in our EDF Renewables Finance Team


As Finance Business Partner you will work alongside management to support the delivery of the EDF Renewables UK and Ireland ("EDFR UK&I")'s business objectives, including understanding the drivers of long-term profitability to facilitate decision making in areas such as strategy and capital expenditure priorities.


A key challenge for this role is the need to build trusting relationships with the managers they partner with, allowing honest and challenging conversations to happen and improve decision making and ensure efficient timely project delivery.


A further challenge for this role is having a deep understanding of what drives profitability on a wide variety of assets, at different stages of their lifecycle and with different operating models.

The role is a key link between the business and other experts in the finance team.

The Finance Business Partner will provide advice and guidance to the business but will know when to consult with specialists and escalate complex issues.

_What you'll be doing day to day _
You will partner with business areas and deliver pertinent analysis to improve their financial performance on spaces such as cash flow and profitability in addition to;

  • Support the implementation of finance improvement initiatives which impacts projects in the development or construction stage
  • Constructively challenge the business and provide innovative solutions to enable financial and operational improvements being made
  • Manage the relationship between the Finance department and business areas to ensure that the needs of both areas are mutually understood, and processes are delivered efficiently
  • Assist the development of financial forecasts for partnered business areas and ensure the forecasts are reviewed on a regular basis
  • Support risk management by ensuring business risks are recorded, assessed, and monitored (including mitigations)
  • Represent EDFR UK&I Finance in key meetings with other business departments, EDFR UK&I Executive and external parties
  • Deliver documentation on the team's key processes to ensure compliance (e.g. integrity and assurance on project costs)

_What you need to be great at this role?_
You will possess an accounting qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) along with several year's post-qualification experience in a similar role.

SAP would also be desirable as well as strong excel experience.

  • Must have experience of presenting detailed financial information to finance and nonfinance audiences, adapting the message accordingly
  • Experience of the energy or services industry and/ or working on acquisitions and disposals is desirable
  • Able to provide robust but diplomatic challenge to managers, based on evidence and analysis
  • Have consulting skills to ask the right questions and get to the route of issues
  • Able to work in a fastpaced organisation and prioritise conflicting activities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Act with complete integrity and confidentiality
  • Committed to continuous improvement and development of skills and knowledge
