Nursing associate is a new role being introduced into the health and care workforce in England from 2019.Nursing associates are intended to bridge a gap between health and care assistants, and registered nurses - Nursing associates act in the best interests of people, putting them first and providing nursing care that is person-centred, safe and compassionate - Nursing associates play an active role as members of interdisciplinary teams, collaborating and communicating effectively with nurses, a range of other health and care professionals and lay carers - Nursing associates contribute to the provision of care for people, including those with complex needs.
6B is an all male elderly care ward with 28 beds.6B specializes in the care of those elderly patients that have complex care needs and those that have also been diagnosed with a cognitive impairment such as Dementia or Alzheimer's.
We also have a special interest in those patients that have been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease.6B prides itself in taking a holistic approach to each individual patient and their care needs.
With having our Occupational and Physiotherapists on the ward means that we are able to work very closely with them to ensure that the patients are referred and assessed in a timely manner ensuring the patients stay in hospital is kept to a minimum.
Our Trust is situated in the beautiful county of Lincolnshire and is one of the biggest acute hospital trusts in England, serving a population of more than 700,000 people.
Our Board have recently agreed a new vision statement - "Outstanding Care Personally Delivered" - stating their ambition for our Trust to be among the best.
We also have a five year Integrated Improvement Plan setting out how we will achieve our strategic objectives, for patients, services, people and partners, the last recognising that our future success depends on our ability to ensure the Lincolnshire healthcare system is successful in achieving its ambition to help people live healthier lives and provide care closer to where people live.
This is in recognition of the huge amount of work that our amazing staff have done to improve the quality of care for our patients in recent years.
