Description

If you are passionate about food and supporting older people, this exciting new part-time role could be right for you.

Thanks to funding from Dumfries & Galloway Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, we are extending our lunch project to provide homemade soup and filled rolls to our shopping delivery customers and run a simple pop-up café 1 day per week to passing older public, open on a Thursday.

We're looking for someone who can make soup and filled rolls, packed, and prepared to go out for delivery, and for serving in the pop-up café.

Food Train is a multi-award-winning national charity established in Dumfries in 1995.

Our local teams support older people to enable them to continue living independently at home by providing services such as grocery shopping, befriending, help with household tasks and a community meal sharing project.

In 2022 we fulfilled a long-held ambition to have our own building in Dumfries. 118 English Street is a community space specifically for older people, open Monday to Friday.

It has a comfortable lounge area, a dining space that seats 16, an open plan kitchen area and is fully accessible.
