Project Manager - ESG in Supply Chain for an initial 6-month contract-based hybrid in either London, Halifax, Bristol and Edinburgh.



Job description - the role

Purpose of theProject Manager - ESG in Supply Chain:

Looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the Group Sourcing & Supplier Management team to deliver and exciting new strategic programme.

This is an outstanding opportunity to help support Group Sourcing & Supplier Management, as we continue to adaptand respond to changing customer needs and technology advances.


The GS&SM Inclusion & Diversity in Supply Chain Project will understand the current position and having established a baseline help build / improve our position through the pursuit of a number of key initiatives aligned to cross industry leading practices.


The role sits within Group Sourcing looking at Environmental Social Governance within the supply chain.

As a Project Manager - ESG in Supply Chain, you will be responsible for:

  • Setting up and closing Programme/Project: Feeding into business study/programme proposals and business cases, ensuring alignment with business strategy; agreement of project business outcomes and benefits and how these will be measured and tracked postimplementation.
  • Project Delivery: Defining and implementing a detailed delivery approach for each stage of the project lifecycle, obtaining acceptance and buyingin to the approach from all team members, and producing and owning all project management deliverables, usingestablished project methodologies, to the right level of quality.
  • Governance and Reporting: Working closely with the Programme Leads to provide regular status reporting appropriately to different stakeholders and to agreed methodologies / standards.
  • Resource Management: Tracking resource requirements (including roles and responsibilities), budget and FTE profile for areas of responsibility.
  • Stakeholder Management: Identifying key project stakeholders and developing an appropriate stakeholder communication plan.
  • Risk: Continuously monitoring projects for risk issues and regulatory compliance and taking appropriate steps to mitigate.
  • Additional desirable skills / experience: Previous ESG and I&D delivery / Knowledge of Sourcing.
  • ESG (Environmental Social Governance)
  • Knowledge of modern slavery, sustainability, carbon policies (COP3), within supply chain.
  • Sourcing Management experience.
  • Experience of delivering projects with both Waterfall and Agile.
  • Financial services or regulated industry experience with sourcing and governance experience.
