We are seeking a tutor of German with the specific brief to teach our German speaking students at Bedford School, preparing them for their exams in First Language IGCSE in German (CIE) and then for their IB German A Language and Literature course.

We require tutoring of approximately 9 hours per week for native speakers on IB courses.

The tutoring could be delivered all by one person, or shared between several tutors (e.g. who are each responsible for one class each).
It is likely that the tutoring for native speakers will take place outside of the normal school day (as our native speakers are residential boarders).
Whilst we believe it is desirable for teaching and learning to be delivered in person, at least some of the provision for native speakers could be delivered remotely.
The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. _Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The School may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants. _The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a selfdeclaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children._
