Town Planner / Senior Town Planner

Peterborough or Cambridge

Permanent - Full time


Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a chartered Planning and Surveying practice in their hire of a talented and ambitious Town Planner to join their dynamic team This role can be based out of either Peterborough or Cambridge.


The team are seeking a proactive, dynamic, commercially minded, and experienced planning consultant to lead the delivery of planning services.

The team work on small to large scale projects across a multitude of sectors, including industrial, retail, education,charity, and public sector to name a few.

The successful applicant, MRTPI qualified, will be expected to lead and manage client projects as well as supporting and assisting colleagues in all aspects of planning


Duties will include:

  • Researching planning policies and constraints
  • Preparing detailed planning policy and design statements
  • Site visits and land appraisals
  • Attending client and council meetings
  • Identifying and delivering marketing opportunities for planning within the area
  • Advice to existing and potential clients
  • Preparation of fee proposals
  • Full member of the RTPI with post qualification experience
  • Understanding of commercial implications of planning proposals
  • A "can do" attitude, be of strong character, confident and a good networker
  • Flexible and adaptable to client needs
  • Ability to work under pressure and often to tight deadlines
  • Full UK driving licence
