The Opportunity/Role


We are currently recruiting for an experienced Toolmaker to ensure that all Extrusion Tooling is maintained and prepared to the highest standard in order to provide optimum extrusion performance.


  • To measure and record final tool settings to enable repeatable setups.
  • To assist in training of Production and Engineering Personnel in care and use of extrusion tooling.
  • To undertake, commission or supervise repair and modification of extrusion tooling and associated accessories.
  • Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns to management.
  • Support new project tooling from commissioning stages through to start of production and assist in tooling buyoffs and trials.
  • Document and update die history and record all relevant data in relation to tooling and record on the Tool Room database.
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and carry out engineering level changes to tools and modifications.
  • Be actively involved in improvement activities to support the achievement of departmental and company objectives.
  • Ensure the optimum tool configuration is available and ready to deliver the production plan

Shift and Pay

Monday-Thursday 8am - 4:30pm and Friday 8am - 3:30pm

£36,959.06 per annum

Requirements:


  • Strong SHE awareness
  • Good hand to eye coordination and attention to detail
  • Selfdisciplined, with the ability to set and maintain high standards for self and others.
  • Evidenced experience of achieving production targets and assisting in the implementation of improvement plans
  • Ability to set and work to priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively and build relationships in a team environment.
  • Work mostly independently with mínimal supervision, work and liaise with a range of internal departments and external suppliers, service providers and customers utilising good effective communication across all functions.
  • Good organisational and problem solving skills.
  • Minimum level 3 engineering (or equivalent) with at least 3 years' experience working in engineering environment.
