Our client provides manual structural and geotechnical monitoring services for the maintenance and lifespan of crucial assets.

Their instrumentation provides asset managers with detailed information as to the structural condition of tunnels, bridges andother infrastructure allowing for better and safer long-term planning for renovation works.

Their core technologies are starting to power digital twins to predict and extend commercial lifespans.
They are seeking a Financial Controller on a permanent basis for their team based in Bury.

in this role, you will provide expert financial management, including regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, and development of internalcontrol policies and procedures, in line with the strategic needs of the company.


Key Responsibilities:


  • To prepare and manage the monthend management accounts for multiple cost centres in the organisational structure, including revenue analysis, contract profitability, cost absorption, accruals & prepayments, fixed asset transactions, depreciation, stocktransactions and provisions in order to provide an uptodate view of Company performance
  • To provide appropriate financial reports for the Management Team / Board of Directors as required from time to time to ensure a full, accurate and progressive view of Company's past and future performance, risks, and issues
  • Continuous improvement of the planning & reporting process, challenging the status quo and identifying areas for process improvement and efficiency
  • To develop and prepare a robust monthly forecast model using ERP system reporting and automation
  • To support the year end statutory audit process including liaison with external auditors to ensure compliance with all external requirements

Key Skills:


  • Have a thorough hands on knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience of analysing large volumes of data, assessing risks and producing accurate and relevant reporting for business decision making
  • Good knowledge of corporation tax, income tax, defined contribution pension and vat legislation
  • Experience of working in and leading a team to work collaboratively and deliver agreed outcomes

Desirables:


  • Qualified to CIMA / ACCA / ACA
  • Experience of contributing effectively to strategic challenges outside the finance function
  • Contract/Project accounting experience
  • Experience of working in a business with large volumes of stock including BOMs with multiple subassemblies
  • Use of Sage 50 & Navision
  • Access Dimensions/Focalpoint
