Reporting to the Avionics Materials Leader, the role of the materials controller will be to work alongside the Materials Planning & Execution Specialists to ensure material requests are processed in line with the critical production requirements.

This role has a strong emphasis on ensuring world class standards of material flow, storage, accuracy, quality, and kitting in readiness for the Avionics portfolio growth and new product integration.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Attend production cell handover and represent materials team by taking and owning critical actions.
  • Collaborate with the warehousing and logístical teams to ensure escalations are fast tracked through the internal transfer process, ensuring swift turn around time and an improved velocity on critical material requests.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing team to disposition defect material and provide replacement parts within a timely manner to ensure swift production cycle.
Maintain lineside material levels to ensure accuracy and mínimal delay impact to production team.

  • Packing and kitting of hardware components to fulfil production plan requirements when required.
  • Support with the generation of shipment documentation.
  • Be responsible for matching defect material with the appropriate non conformance documentation, to unsure any material dispositioned through scrap is correct.
  • Own and be responsible for picking lineside material picks in a timely manner to support with external and internal MRO spare part orders.


Be responsible for processing of non-conforming material back to internal and external suppliers - matching with return paperwork & PO with goods and progressing on to logistics.


  • Contribute to the overall materials team's continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications / Requirements:


  • The applicant must be a good team player, flexible and be able to work to tight schedules, with multiple priorities.
  • Experience of working, or exposure to, a similar production environment, as well as previous experience of working with an MRP system would be beneficial, although not required.
  • Good problemsolving skills & being able to perform effectively in pressurized situations.
  • Able to effectively influence within a matrix organization.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and escalate when required.
  • Willingness to work permanent late shift required.
