Overview of job:

The Head of Partnerships -Airports & Network Rail role has varied remit. You will lead the relationships with our Airport Partners and with Network Rail, a key partner. The role includes building and developing strong relationships and delivering on Global's partnership strategy and objectives. You will be the key point of contact and the conduit between the asset partner's management teams and Global.

You will ensure that we deliver on our promises and that our partners deliver on theirs to us.

You will be responsible, as required, to lead, participate and contribute to developing and executing strategies that ensure the maintenance of existing long-term partnerships, as well as winning new business for Global within your sector of responsibility

Measures of success -

In the first few months, you would have:

  • Built excellent relationships with internal and external partners involved with the management of these partnerships.
  • Reviewed the Airport and Network Rail contracts and performance to the contracts.
  • Established reporting and meeting governance adhering to contractual commitments.
  • Contributed to the assessment and development of Global's airport and roadside strategy.
  • Be a key member of the team working to renew the Network Rail Roadside contract. You will participate and contribute to the successful tender submission and pitch.

Responsibilities of the role:


  • Leadership and management of two partnership managers.
  • Long term relationship management with your asset partners. Lead and manage partnership reviews and regular reporting.
  • Work with your partners to manage and protect commercially viable assets for the long term benefit of Global. Ensure your portfolio is profitable and growing in value.
  • Working with your partners and the Global commercial teams to assess and develop new advertising and media opportunities to increase the value of the estate.
  • Develop business cases, financial models and project plans to support business decisions and investment activity across your portfolio.
  • Developing with the commercial teams business plans and monetisation strategies and holding the commercial teams to account to deliver on our financial promises to our partners.
  • Adapt local commercial strategies based on our partner's and or Global's commercial priorities.
  • Where Global or our partners commit to CAPEX programmes ensure that these plans are executed safely, on time and on budget.
  • Develop a strategy particularly within the airport sector to build relationships with the airports that we don't represent to give us the best possible chance of working with these airports in the future.
  • Support the wider Partnerships Team with new business development tender submissions as required.
  • Setting an example of professional behaviour to the wider Partnership team, developing the less experienced members of the team.

What will you need:


  • Indepth understanding of the Outdoor classic & digital market.
  • Excellent communication skills with both internal colleagues and departments and external parties.
  • Experience in dealing with Outdoor inventory, developing effective strategies to optimise the commercial benefits of our partner's asset base.
  • Experience of negotiation and problem solving.
  • Used to working in a fast, pressurised environment with constantly changing deadlines.
  • Experience from a supervisory or management position.
  • Ability to analyse complex data.
  • Good oral, written and presentation communication skills.
  • High level of numeracy.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Accuracy and an eye for detail.
  • Project management experience.
  • High level of organisation and self motivation.
  • Proactive and thinking outside the box to find solutions to issues is essential.
