Job Details and Requirements:


Bolsover District Council is a dynamic and ambitious organisation that takes pride in delivering excellent services to our community whilst driving economic growth and environmental sustainability for the district.


Based within the Planning Policy and Housing Strategy Team, the Principal Planning Policy Officer will play a lead role in the delivery of the Team's work programme and in particular the Council's Housing Strategy in partnership with the Housing Department.


To be successful you will need:

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the plan-making process, including the role of national guidance;
  • Good understanding of Housing Strategy issues;
  • Degree or equivalent in Town and County Planning or allied field providing eligibility for RTPI membership;
  • Significant experience of preparing Local Plans and other planning policy documents;
  • Experience of advising Council Members, professional stakeholders and the public on planning policy and housing strategy matters;
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral, including good presentation and negotiation skills.
