We are looking for a
Town Centre Vision Coordinator to join our team in
Economic Growth & Climate Change.

The successful person will share our values, commitment, and motivation to make a difference for our residents, clients, and communities.


About the role


An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Councils to lead the Town Centre Vision programme across our key towns in the Babergh and Mid Suffolk Districts.


The Vision plans for each town are at different stages of evolution and we require a coordinator to work with local stakeholders and partners to move the programme for each town forward and to establish a set of robust, ambitious delivery plans that deliver on key priorities identified through our partnership working with local groups and communities.


You will be required to coordinate and manage board and steering group meetings, bid for external funding for key projects, project manage the delivery plans for each town and provide regular updates to Members, partners and stakeholders on progress.


You will be expected to:

  • Lead, develop and deliver a programme of activity to stimulate the vitality and viability of our key towns.
  • Develop and maintain regular daytoday communication and dialogue with local businesses, to understand their needs and assess business confidence ensuring their views are incorporated into plans for each town.
Town Centres are currently going through a radical period of change.

Our key market towns are no exception and this role is essential in ensuring that we support our town centre businesses through this challenging period.


About you


If you have the passion to lead an ambitious programme of delivery in our local places and enjoy working closely with local, regional and national partners and stakeholders then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

You will be passionate about supporting growth in our town centres, creative in your approach and a great communicator.


You will therefore need to understand and embrace the change affecting town centres and work to define the characteristics and experiences that will support the development of a vibrant and prosperous Town Centre.


  • Experience in retail and marketing or place development.
  • Experience of project or programme management and delivery.
  • The skills to engage with businesses and develop dynamic partnership working.
