We are looking for a highly motivated, compassionate and caring individual to join our multidisciplinary team in Interventional Radiology Theatres at the QMC site.
This is a part time position 22.5 hrs a week and if successful you would work as a member of the multidisciplinary team providing a high standard of care to patients and their carers' within the Radiology department.
Following appropriate training and with the indirect supervision of a registered nurse or radiographer you would participate in the treatment and after care of patients undergoing specialised interventional/investigative radiological procedures.
Act as the patient's advocate ensuring that their best interests are met.
Using the competency framework carry out basic nursing care of the patient and their daily activities and promote patient safety, comfort, privacy, dignity and confidentiality, reporting any change in condition to the person in charge.
Ensure that patients are helped to retain dignity and individuality, and act as chaperone when requested.
Use initiative in planning daily and weekly routines, ensuring that delays are minimised by preparing the imaging room and equipment for each new patient.
Carry out the role without the need for constant supervision and direction recognising limitations and seeking supervision when necessary.
Comply with all Trust policies with particular regard to the policies and procedures carried out in the event of maintaining staff and patient safety.
Report all accidents and untoward incidents to the nurse in charge of the area and complete an incident form in accordance with Trust policy.
Be prepared to attend and undertake any necessary training, being aware of the need to develop oneself and to strive to increase personal knowledge.

Essential criteria
- Good standard of education Level of education to be assessed prior to interview NVQ/QCF level 2 in Healthcare or equivalent
- NVQ / QCF 3 in Healthcare, Evidence of Professional development
Essential criteria
- Previous experience in a caring role within a health or social care setting
- Previous experience in an NHS acute hospital

- Demonstrate clear and effective written and verbal communication skills Good telephone skills Ability to pass on information accurately
