Main Purpose of the Role


RWE Technology UK (RWET UK) is the UK division of RWE Technology International (RWETI), providing project consultancy and Facilities management expertise to RWE Generation in the UK and across Europe.

The Health & Safety department ensures that activities with the highest H&S risks (i.e. construction, demolition) are managed in the most effective, efficient and consistent way. We provide similar support to the Facilities Management team.


We are looking for a hardworking, innovative Occupational Safety Advisor to be part of a dynamic international occupational safety department to provide advice to the business as defined within the Service Level Agreement.

You will be required to travel to sites around the UK and occasionally further afield.

There may be opportunities to support and work on other sites as required.

You will be empowered to manage your own time and be a validated self-starter who can spot initiatives and implement activities in a customer focused environment.

This is a dynamic, developing role which reflects our growing business with so many opportunities to learn new skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supports Health and Safety on RWE Technology UK construction projects, e.g. demolition, hydrogen etc, to safely deliver project activities in the United Kingdom, but may involve also support on international level.
  • Support Health and Safety on RWE Facilities management functions, primarily in UK but may involve other FM activities.
  • Identify completely new situations and develop solutions within RWE guidelines
  • Assist with the development and implementation of H&S programmes within RWE Technology UK. including RWE Generation Agenda, campaigns and programs.
  • Assist with the maintenance of RWETI external certification and maintaining H&S Management System.
  • Support the implementation of the Health & Safety strategy and improvement plan within the RWE UK business.
  • Support Investigation of safety relevant incidents
  • Maintain and develop partnership with project management team providing health and safety expertise to colleagues and external contractors responsible for business and operational activities in the UK

Knowledge & Skills

  • Preferably qualified to NEBOSH Diploma level or working towards, however, relevant experience in construction design management and facilities management is equally as relevant as qualifications.
  • Occupational Safety Qualification Member of IOSH, with up to date CPD
  • Experience working in Top Tier COMAH sites preferred but not essential
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to influence change and making tangible improvements, particularly in Health & Safety.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the UK Energy Industry, with a proven track record in the ability to work with energy processes and practices.
  • Able to demonstrate experience working for large scale, complex projects.
  • Providing onsite support and advice to the site manager, site engineer, Project Execution Manager, and the Onsite Health & Safety Manager to ensure that the contractors adheres to the highest level of health and safety management.
  • Deliver Health and Safety matters for full project life cycle, project feasibility to commissioning and supporting handover of relevant Health and Safety documentation. Periodic checking of the performance of the Contractors construction and commissioning activities for compliance with the station local requirements for health, safety and environmental performance.
