The Role


As an Assessment Officer you will ensure the marking workload of Youth Worker Degree Apprenticeships and Post Graduate Diploma Business Scripts are delivered in a timely and compliant fashion.


The Department
The Learning Operations Department manages the resources for learners during their journeys with Captiva Learning Ltd.

The department is responsible for ensuring that the marking of Youth Worker Degree Apprenticeships and PG Dip submissions are completed and recorded in due time whilst ensuring that all compliance and administrative tasks are aligned to our partnership agreement with the University of Roehampton.

Learning Operations' also oversee the implementation and the day-to-day management of Captiva's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) as well as providing technical support to learners and Captiva's Delivery Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete the marking of assessment scripts in accordance to deadlines and schedules
  • Undertake the moderation of scripts,and the updating of the moderation tracking spreadsheet
  • Provide learner feedback to completed assignments on canvas
  • Set up assignment portals on canvas well in advance of deadlines
  • Attend marking cohort briefings, drop in sessions and debriefings
  • Update the Student Mastersheet in preparation for assessments (IE: Non submissions, Leavers, ALNs and MiT Circs)
  • Give second opinions to marking and monitor (then act upon) similarity concerns
  • Undertake CPD training as directed by the Academic Director
  • To produce clear, concise, accurate information to support the Learning Operations team in raising standards of academic performance
Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in an educational assessment role, particularly in marking and moderating scripts.
  • Proficiency in using online educational platforms, especially Canvas, and MS Office Suite for data tracking and management.
  • Experience in managing confidential data and adhering to data protection regulations.
  • Strong administrative, organisational skills, with a track record of providing constructive feedback to enhance student engagement and success.
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure, managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to interact positively with diverse individuals and groups.
