Job description

We are currently recruiting for:
Team Leader

Hours of work: 39 hours per week

Location of role:
The Meadows

The Role:

  • The service offer is a psychologically informed, therapeutic environment to support young
people to move from a model of physical security to relational security. Across the secure
estate, there is a consistent difficulty in identifying providers who are able to meet, the
often-complex needs of young people who have required a secure placement.

The service will provide three components:

  • Residential care; a stable and consistent staffing team with high ratios (3 young people:2
staff during the day and throughout the night). Staff to be skilled to manage complex
formulations through an enhanced training offer.
-
Education offer; the option to procure an education provision from Nugent House School.
This collaborative offer, with established protocols regarding joint placements with
experience in offering specialist placements for young people with complex needs.
-
Health offer; whilst in secure care young people benefit from access to substantial input
from a contracted health service. This includes psychiatry, clinical psychology, nursing,
occupational therapy, transitional support and specialist speech and language input. This
service offers both direct clinical input, and informed and specialist support to the frontline
staff. The service provision will include clinical supervision, case formulation and support to
care and risk plan for frontline staff. This supports staff to deliver, informed and robust
interventions for complex young people. It recognises the increased need for staff skill set
to be able to appropriately care for young people during the high-risk transition period and
provide appropriate psychological containment and intervention.
