Overview and purpose of role
The Studio Co-ordinator and Designer role is for one year to cover maternity absence.


This role must have strong interpersonal and communication skills liaising closely with the other members of the team at Stuart Morris and building very good working relationships with all customers.


The role requires the ability to organise and plan work efficiently and effectively and to meet customer deadlines as agreed.

Attention to detail and ensuring the work produced is aesthetically pleasing. Working with and mentoring, as appropriate, one other employee in the department.


Main responsibilities

  • Providing technical support/advice to customers regarding artwork
  • Second line for telephone
  • Chasing customer approvals of artwork
  • Organising work schedule for the day
  • Ensure all supplies are ordered (film, inks etc)
  • Prioritisation of work
  • Customer liaison in particular major clients
  • Using customers own artwork to create digital proofs
  • Preparing files for both digital and screen printing
  • Amending/creating brochures/leaflets using InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Creating adverts for magazines including mockups of products (Illustrator & Photoshop)
  • E mail marketing of products and services (Illustrator, Photoshop, Mailchimp)
  • Website content including mockups of products (Illustrator, Photoshop, Word Press Beaver Builder)
  • Updating Price Lists (Illustrator)
  • Ordering of brochures and ensuring that prices are competitive. This includes the setting up of documents for printing by external printers to their specific requirements as appropriate.

Technical Requirements to fulfil the role

  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Mailchimp, Word Press Beaver Builder
  • Understanding of printing and an experienced art worker with design experience
  • Understanding of colour types for various purposes
  • Understanding of vector files and pixels
  • Understanding the choice of program most suitable for the work required
  • Design and Illustration experience and ability

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months


Salary:
£22,000.00-£27,000.00 per year

Education:


  • Diploma of Higher Education (preferred)
