About The Role:


Have you thought about working within prison healthcare?


We are looking for an experienced clinical lead to provide clinical leadership and management to the registered nurses and care teams.


As the Clinical Lead and a member of the wider management team, you will be responsible for providing the day-to-day clinical and operational management of the mental health team across an integrated healthcare service, contributing to the strategic direction of the service.

You will support your team to carry out comprehensive assessments, confidently communicating treatment options, and initiating supportive care plans, working with individuals on a 1-2-1 basis alongside the wider multi-disciplinary team.

There will be an expectation for the post holder to lead/contribute to clinical and consumer audits. You'll be responsible to the Head of Healthcare, to ensure the management of the service meets its contractual obligations.

As a Clinical Lead, you'll be an integral part of the healthcare team by bringing your top-notch skills, passion for care, and leadership to the role.


This is a leadership role and with your team leaders, you will model a culture of compassion, courage, and competence.

The role will include providing challenge, support, and mentorship at the point of delivery, drawing the best from our staff, and improving the quality of care for our services.

You'll receive an annual salary up to £50,000 per annum - dependent on experience.

About Us:

The Mount prison originally opened in 1987 as a young offender's institution.

It was designed as a Category C training prison built on the site of a former RAF station on the outskirts of Bovingdon village, Hertfordshire.
