Description

Lead the risk management agenda for the ICB, ensuring a suitable and sufficient assurance framework is actively implemented and underpinned by a reliable risk register.


Responsible for leading on various programmes of work to ensure the successful delivery of the ICBs Quality & Safety programme.


The role is responsible for leading the provision of an efficient, effective and high quality professional and well co-ordinated Quality & Safety Improvement service capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements ensuring alignment with the activity of the organisation.


Lead on quality & safety innovation across the ICB and wider health and social care footprint to ensure high quality & safe commissioned service.


Provide senior leadership and oversight of the quality and safety agenda, ensuring that clinically led commissioning achieves real improvements in patient safety, outcomes and experience.

Lead a portfolio arrangement and its agenda, supporting the quality improvement and safety assurance system approach to this agenda.

Lead collaborative working across all sectors of healthcare providers,
commissioners, Local Authority and independent regulators and inspectorates, where necessary.

Provide leadership and line management of staff teams and functions (Quality & Safety Team and portfolio teams)

Work closely with ICB system stakeholders including NHS England, system
partners and local Health and Well-being Leads to assure ICB quality and
performance against the Assurance Framework.


Responsible for a range of functions at strategic level & service management for designated work streams pertaining to clinical quality, safety, quality improvement and recommendations for improvement to executives and the board.


Communicate and present highly complex information about problems, projects, initiatives and services to a wide range of stakeholders in a range of formal settings.


Work and engage constructively with internal and external stakeholders on a range of contentious issues, using negotiating skills and making decisions on behalf of the ICB to strengthen collaborative working with partners and overcome operational difficulties.
