London East AP (LEAP) is a successful, high-achieving all through (Primary, KS3, KS4 and Post-16) alternative provision located in Tower Hamlets.

We are seeking to appoint a Child Protection Support Officer to support with the safeguarding of our vulnerable and at-risk students at our KS4/KS5 centre in Stepney Green to start off with, but with a view to transferring to our new LEAP KS4 Centre in South Quay on the Isle of Dogs in the new academic year.

This post involves supporting our Child Protection Coordinator and Social Worker, pastorally and academically both in and out of school, as well as supporting students with their school attendance and punctuality on a daily basis.

Our students have a variety of needs and need much support to ensure they attend school and are safeguarded in and out of school.

The purpose of the role is to support pupils with their behaviour and learning needs, enabling them to participate fully in the school curriculum and ensuring that they make appropriate progress.

The Child Protection Support Officer will work with our pupils in a multitude of ways:

4. Liaising with colleagues and external agencies to engage in multi-agency work in order to ensure the effective safeguarding and child protection of some of the most challenging and hard to reach children in Tower Hamlets.
