Main Purpose of the Role:
As a valued Learning Support Practitioner, your mission is to assist our students in our residential houses, contributing to our vision of preparing young adults with learning disabilities for sustainable employment in the hospitality sector and independent living.
Key Duties:
- Have high expectations for all students, consistently challenging and stretching each individual.
- Support students in their learning, guided by House Team Leaders/Tutors, to help them reach their full potential.
- Professionally and effectively manage student behaviour, seeking advice and guidance when necessary.
- Collaborate with session tutors to foster positive, constructive relationships that significantly contribute to student success.
- Employ strategies to enhance students' wider skills development, including communication, selfadvocacy, presentation skills, and teamwork.
Skills and Qualifications:
- An enthusiastic and positive attitude towards supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
- Flexibility to work various shifts within a 2week rota pattern (7am3pm, 2pm10pm, 10am6pm).
