Early Years Practitioner/Nursery Nurse required for Strathclyde University Nursery
We are based within the Strathclyde University campus in the city centre with a good bus route. We provide childcare to all staff and students within Strathclyde University and Colleges nearby.


We are recruiting for a full time Qualified Early Years Practitioner/Nursery Nurse and require an experienced and enthusiastic individual to work and care for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.

We will pay a competitive rate of pay depending on experience.


Responsibilities will include ensuring that provision is of the highest quality through providing a safe, stimulating, caring and child-centered learning environment.

The successful individual will have the following qualifications, training and experience:

  • Minimum HNC/SVQ level 3 in a relevant childcare qualification and ability to register with SSSC.
  • Have experience of planning, observations and assessments as well as preparing and undertaking learning experiences both indoors and out that support children's learning and development.
  • Have knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence and Pre-Birth to Three curriculum
  • Have knowledge of GIRFEC and Realising the Ambition


The Nursery is open Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm for 50 weeks of the year and shifts will vary within these times.


Salary:
From £9.50 per hour


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • GLASGOW, G4 0NG: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Nursery: 1 year (preferred)
  • Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
  • Management: 1 year (preferred)
