Venn Group's specialist legal team are currently working with an ambitious
Local Authority in the West
Midlands who are recruiting for a
Locum Debt Recovery Lawyer to join their department.


Hourly rate:

Up to £50 per hour umbrella

Skill level:

Qualified Solicitor and CILEX/FILEX


This role will involve a
mixed caseload dealing with a variety of matters including recovery of residential and domiciliary care fees, transport costs and commercial debts matters.


Daily duties may include:

  • Providing debt recovery advice as required and managing a full and varied caseload of highvalue debt recoveries
  • Completing debt recovery negotiations in a wide range of highly complex commercial, contractual, consumer and statutory debt recovery cases
  • Undertaking enforcement proceedings against Judgement Debtors
  • Drafting any debt recovery policies and procedures as required
  • Having a strong working knowledge of the enforcement procedure including winding up and bankruptcy petitions
  • Completing legal analysis to judge theprospects of success, write offs and statutory limitation periods, procedural advice, costs liability, as required to allow the Council to make decisions and achieve legally sound solutions
  • Carrying out the drafting of any necessary documents, Claim Forms, Particulars of Claim, Counterclaims or Defences, Directions Orders, costs budgets and schedules Part 36 offers**Locum Debt Recovery Lawyer
