Our Regional Civil Engineering have been awarded the Highways Term Service Agreement to deliver highways improvement schemes across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole for BCP Council.

The contract, (awarded in June 2023), will see deliver highway and cycleway improvement schemes for the next four years and is extendable for a further six years to May 2033.

As a result we are seeking a Site Agent capable of running £1m - £10m projects.


You'll be working on. (what your role and responsibility is)

  • Ensure the team work in a safe, profitable, planned manner to achieve the programme and deliver a quality product and service.
  • Deliver the project works from start to finish and carrying out safety and quality audits.
  • To develop and maintain positive relationships with teams and clients.
  • Promote and protect the Octavius Infrastructure reputation whilst remaining customer focused and in line with Company policies and values.
  • Lead by example by promoting the collaborative culture throughout the site team, including suppliers and customers.
  • Be responsible for safety first culture onsite.

About you. (what you are skilled at)

  • Highly organised, excellent planning and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities without compromising on safety, standards and quality.
  • Highly motivated, resultsoriented with a positive outlook.
  • Safety first mindset, with the ability to assess and mitigate risks
  • Tech savvy, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
  • Problem solver with the ability to both question designs and produce/explain accurate plans and drawings.

You'll bring(your wealth of experience & qualifications)

  • A Civil, Structural, or Construction Management background on National Highways or local authority networks.
  • You could come from either a tier 1 or tier 2 contracting group, with working knowledge of NEC contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, programme and risk management and cost control including forecasting, actual cost and value reporting.
  • Lead a team of up to 5 direct reports assisting their allround development
  • Have worked on a broad section of disciplines such as groundworks, RC structures, steelwork, and can demonstrate a clear understanding in these areas.
  • Good level of programming experience with knowledge of Primavera P6 software or Microsoft Projects (desirable)
  • Temporary Works Coordinator (desirable)
  • Leadership experience (desirable)

Qualifications:


  • Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience or relevant qualification
  • CEng MICE, or equivalent (desirable)
  • CSCS Managers card
  • Appointed person CPCS card (desirable)
  • IOSH Managing Safely or SMST
