Experience Designer - Midweight - Working on Nectar

At Sainsbury's we believe that the customer should be at the heart of everything we do. Our vision is to create the easiest, most enjoyable experiences that better serve our customers' ever-changing needs.

We work across a range of services, products, touch points and tools to deliver distinctive, integrated, and consistent experiences for our customers and colleagues across Sainsbury's Group (which includes Sainsbury's Food, Argos, Nectar, Tu and Habitat).

We drive brilliant experiences across all our brands in-store and online, operating in agile teams and squads, working seamlessly with teams right across the business to make the most of the exceptional knowledge, insight, and talent we have.

The role:

This is an exciting role in the Customer Loyalty team, designing experiences for the Nectar App, website and wider Nectar experiences across our Ecosystem.

With more than 18 million customers, Nectar is the UK's largest loyalty scheme, but there's more to it than points and Nectar Prices.

We also work with hundreds of partners across retail, travel and more, that includes some of the UK's favourite brands, such as Argos and eBay to offer our customers real value.

As an Experience Designer, you will be responsible for understanding how our customers shop with us, what value and loyalty means to them, what their pain points are and what the moments of delight could be when interacting with the Nectar proposition.

You will have access to research and insights and work really closely with our Loyalty product, engineering and Marketing teams.

You will take those customer pain points and the business needs and design solutions that make customers' experiences using the Nectar App and website as easy, fun and joyful as possible.

We work agile so you will be in our Digital Experience Design Team, but you will be working very closely with product and engineering to make sure we are consistently putting the customer at the heart of what we do.

You will be working within a team of experienced product managers in the business; engineers and stakeholders from other parts of the operation who will rely on your knowledge of user experience, accessibility, and interaction design.

You will have had lots of experience of user experience design for digital products and be able to use design thinking to plan out that work, getting feedback from stakeholders.

With tight feedback loops and the ability to bring about huge changes to our customers, this position offers an extremely rewarding design role.

What you will do:
Work with our researchers and journey managers to understand the customer journeys and customer pain points.

Perform your own desk and in-store research to explore and iterate design solutions.

Organise design workshops with stakeholders to articulate customer and business problems and what the possible solutions might be.

Interact with stakeholders from across the group to share insights and ideas.

Work with the Design Systems team to understand which components exist and contribute back ideas to improve the customer experience.

Work with the content strategists and accessibility specialist to make sure you are design the best experience for all our customers and colleagues.

Design and test concepts and solutions.

Work within agile teams across product, design, and engineering to get your solutions into the hands of our customers and colleagues.

Be part of an exciting design community, pairing up with other designers and sharing ideas to constantly iterate the customer experience.

What we are looking for:
Industry experience as a UX / UI or Product Designer is essential. As are the core technical skills outlined in the role details above. Alongside this, we're looking for certain behaviours and competency skills. These skills will help you thrive in a dynamic team like ours. This is a midweight role so we're looking for a minimum of 3 years of experience.

Skills we are looking for:
Strong visual, interface and interaction design skills
