Description
Our client is seeking a Buyer to join their team and take responsibility for managing a range of commodities.

As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in executing the supply chain strategy, developing and driving strong risk mitigated supply partnerships, and ensuring the delivery of quality products and services on plan, at the lowest cost of ownership.


As a Buyer, you will engage and manage suppliers, working cross-functionally to drive results in a challenging, exciting, and fast-paced environment.

Your key duties will involve managing a mixed portfolio of direct and indirect suppliers, preparing RFI and RFQ's, consolidating feedback, and determining an award, engagement, and disengagement strategy as appropriate.

In addition, you will be responsible for placing, monitoring, and chasing purchase orders to meet business demands. You will execute regular business reviews, examining performance, and setting improvement goals in line with functional objectives. You will also identify risks and work collaboratively and cross-functionally to implement strategies to mitigate them.


As a Buyer, you will uphold the integrity of the ERP system, validating and maintaining part and supplier characteristics to ensure the smooth flow of product from dock to stock.

You will examine supply chains, identifying opportunities to minimize waste, increase the 'value chain,' and maximize 'value add' to deliver an agile supply chain network.


To achieve success in this role, you will need to explore mechanisms to reduce the overall cost of supply, examining consolidation approaches, replenishment mechanisms, logistic bundling, working capital optimization, and enhancing the general terms and conditions of supply.


As a Buyer, you will also support the introduction of new products, liaising with engineering to ensure the timely release of parts and adapting the supply chain to support emerging needs.

You will support and participate in Continuous Improvement programs, driving assigned actions to conclusion in a timely manner.
