Housekeeper

Job Overview

The role of the Housekeeper is to ensure the cleanliness and up-keep of the is maintained to a high standard at all times.


Aims

  • Comply with all regulatory requirements
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures at all times
  • Acquire and maintain positive working partnerships with staff, parents and carers
  • Proactively promote and represent the nursery to current and potential parents/customers including in the wider community

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all children are kept safe
  • Notify Designated Officer of any safeguarding concerns
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, parents and carers
  • Ensure confidentiality, where appropriate, is maintained
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures and undertake responsibility for cleanliness and health and safety throughout the nursery
  • Work as part of a team to ensure the company's values are maintained
  • Attend regular staff meetings and undertake training as required
  • Ensuring flammable materials are kept out of reach and away from any heat sources
  • Draw the attention to the nursery manager to any necessary repair maintenance.
- furnishings are cleaned in accordance with the company's standards and expectations

  • Provide safe access to the nursery and playrooms
  • Ensuring that any cleaning work is carried out to the recognised high standard and at a suitable time.
  • Removal of rubbish from all areas in the nursery.
  • Ensuring all rubbish bins are emptied.
  • Using cleaning materials in the prescribed manner, accepting responsibility for the cleaning equipment used and ensuring the safe usage and storage of such equipment and materials in accordance with the COSHH regulation
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by line manager

Daily Cleaning Duties
Daily - to be completed every day.
Walk Ways and Stairs/ Main Office

  • Vacuum all carpeted areas, rugs, and hard floors throughout the building.
  • Mop all hard floors.
  • Disinfect all door handles.
  • Clean and disinfect toilet bowls inclusive of toilet seats.
  • Empty bins and change liners. Including coffee machine.
  • Clean all sinks and tiles. (no bleach)
  • Fill up soaps, toilet rolls and hand towels
  • Wipe and disinfect desks in Main office
- 'if' any empty cups, plates, ect put in the dishwasher and set

Children Areas/ Rooms

  • Clean and disinfect toilet bowls inclusive of toilet seats
  • Clean all sinks, taps and accessories (no Bleach)
  • Clean and buff tiles and mirrors
  • Clean all work surfaces and ledges
Daily - Room by Room
Throughout the building

  • Clean, Dust and Polish all ledges
  • Wipe marks on walls and doors
  • Clean fire extinguishers, plug sockets, skirting and kick plates
  • Clean, Wipe and disinfect tables and legs, chairs and legs.
  • Descale toilets as needed
Weekly

  • Clean and disinfect coffee Machine
  • Adult Toilets, hoover and mop
  • Staff Room, tidy, clean, disinfect, hoover and mop
