FHSO- 20 hours per weekTwo days from 09:00 to 14:00, two days 13:00 to 18:00 including every other Saturday
Due to the characteristics of this role we won't consider applicants under the age of 18.
Salary is 10.90 plus £0.50 an hour.
1 Fire Health & Safety Officer
Purpose By using your training, you will be supporting all Fire, Health and Safety practices in your store.
To assist the store manager as a competent person to influence, implement and where required enforce through positive feedback all matters relating to Fire, Health and Safety.
ResponsibilitiesHelp maintain a store that provides a safe, secure, and healthy environment for all persons on the premises.
Be the standout figurehead and go to individual for driving the Marks and Spencer "My Safety" Culture
Create a working relationship with the store manager based on trust and reliability which results in open and honest two-way communication leading to a recognised and driven Health & Safety culture in the store.
Be proactive with regards to sales floor trading tasks and layouts, ensuring these are correct, safe and are always completed in a safe manner.
Maintain and update the Fire, Health & Safety store noticeboard and inform all colleagues of any changes or wider issues.
Ensure all Fire, Health and Safety mandatory training for existing colleagues is completed in accordance with current policy and (where required) assist in the practical training (Fire Tours, Emergency Team, Transport etc.)
Be actively involved with the Induction and training of new colleagues for fire, health & safety matters.
Complete colleague sampling and retraining to ensure colleagues are completing tasks safely.
Carry out regular reviews of the store Accident Database to ensure all incidents are accurately reported, investigated and if necessary, holding due discussion with Store Management and Colleagues to reduce risk of reoccurrence.
Support the store First Aid team to ensure provision is sufficient and in accordance with policy.
Attend weekly review meetings with the Store Manager to discuss Fire, Health & Safety matters relating to the previous trading and operating week.
Complete / Review risk assessments to identify and mitigate risk to as low as is reasonably practicable and keep them up to date.
