Our client is a dynamic and growing Property Finance lender providing specialist finance products to property developers and borrowers for both residential and commercial properties across the UK.

They are well capitalised with investment from both privateand institutional funders and due to huge success, they have surpassed significant lending milestones more than £150 million.


Due to successful growth, they are looking to hire a Portfolio and Recoveries Manager to manage both performing and non-performing loans from legal completion through to the full cycle of effective repayment.


As the Portfolio Manager you will be responsible for being a good gatekeeper of the loan book and keeping in control of each stage of the process from post completion to redemption.

A key focus and part of this role is to be able to manage expectations andrelationships effectively with borrowers and brokers to maintain honest and open communication and to ensure a smooth and efficient process is followed during the recovery of funds.


You will need to have good client facing skills and confident communication skills and the ability to negotiate with a mindset of trying "to do the right thing" whilst managing the recovery process effectively to the highest standards and to keep companyreputation intact.


You will be confident in your knowledge of the property finance industry and experienced in presenting information to board level and credit committee to present updates and advise on solutions with regards to the performing and non-performing loan book.

About you:


  • Previous portfolio management and recovery experience within property finance with the ability to manage both performing and nonperforming loans of real estate to effective repayment in full.
  • Experienced in being able to present information to board level and credit committee.
  • Be a point of contact for Borrowers and Brokers to ensure developments are progressing and work closely with the COO and credit committee to manage any risk factors as they appear.
  • Motivated to deliver a successful outcome for the company to recover repayment of the loan.
  • Holistic approach to risk and be able to find solutions to clients lending and risk challenges.
  • Operate with the highest integrity, always delivering on what you say you will do and in an ethical nature.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Key Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the overall management of all transactions from legal completion through the monthly drawdown process and through to facility repayment.
  • Day to day responsibility for the oversight of performing and nonperforming loans.
  • Present recommendations to the Chief Credit Officer and wider credit committee where loan extensions are required and fit within the company's risk criteria.
  • Handling and processing post completion events to include client and thirdparty loan requests.
  • Monitoring loan conditions, payments and post completion milestones, maintaining correct building insurance spreadsheet, along with client contact.
  • Monitoring and oversight of charge registration
  • Redemptions, proactive client contact at least, 3 months before the expiry of the loan and at regular intervals; thereafter, presenting and processing extension requests to the credit committee, liaising with the finance department and issuing redemptionstatements.
  • Instructing Solicitors when loans go into default, updating investor team and COO throughout.,
  • Instruct 3rd party Receivers, keep written records of all communication with clients.
  • Provide reports and updates to the Senior Management Team and Credit Committee.
  • Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer and Senior Management team.

Experience:


  • Min of 2 years loan lending and debt recovery experience within real estate finance.
  • Good knowledge of property lending market within short term lending.
  • Experienced in working with effective recovery strategies and processes to ensure full repayment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build and develop relationships as well as discuss cases directly with funding partners.
  • Ability to show empathy and understanding.
  • Good excel skills to build create spreadsheets.
