A fantasctic opportunity has arisen within the Vascular Surgery Network to join the team as a patient pathway coordinator.


We cover a a network with the hub based at NBT, Southmead Hospital yet also manage services in Weston, Bath and UHBristol.

The role is for a patient pathway co-ordinator working 37. hours per week across Monday -Friday.


A fantastic opportunity has recently arisen within the Vascular Surgery department as we are advertising for a Patient Pathway Co-ordinator working 37.5 hours a week,7.5 hours each day, Monday-Friday to join our busy Vascular Network based at North Bristol NHS Trust, Southmead Hospital in the Brunel building.

This team are focused on helping manage the administrative processes for patient's with various Vascular issues including the diabetic foot clinics, aortic surgery, and critical limb ischaemia.


The role will be to support all administration aspects of the patient pathway in line with 18 weeks referral to treatment guidelines and internal pathways, therefore RTT (referral to treatment) knowledge would be extremely beneficial.

This role also involves working closely with the whole multidisciplinary team including CNS (clinical nurse team, consultant teams and all staff at different spoke sites within the network.

The Vascular Patient Pathway Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the patient pathway, from referral to treatment and follow up care.


The key tasks respectively involve managing the inpatient and day case waiting lists for Consultant Vascular Surgeons operating at Southmead Hospital, in accordance with Government Access Targets and Trust's Patient Access Policy.

To ensure efficient and effective use of available resources.


To manage the waiting list for a team of clinicians and co-ordinate admissions associated pre-operative assessment clinics and theatre lists.


To play a central role within these services and to work in close liaison with colleagues, staff in other departments, GPs, patients and the general public.


To exercise initiative, independent judgement and decision making with situations arising from the duties described below to ensure an effective, high quality service.


Work with the central outpatients department to resolve capacity issues, escalating any shortfalls to the Support manager and Performance and Operations Manager if required.


Ensure good data quality, including checking patients out on the Careflow PAS (Patient Administration System) to ensure appropriate income generation; to ensure accurate RTT and income data.

The role requires good problem solving skills and the ability to prioritise work load.
