Reporting to the Purchase Ledger Manager, you will be supporting the day-to-day running of the Purchase Ledger department. A wonderful opportunity for a highly numerate and analytical individual with the right aptitudes and motivation.

The role would suit someone who is keen to start and develop their career in finance and may be interested in AAT study, or someone who is more experienced and keen to use their experience in a steady purchase ledger role.


The main purpose of the role:

  • To ensure all expenditure across the business is approved and matched to PO numbers.
  • To ensure consistent, precise, and timely accounting procedures are adhered to for the group.
  • To develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Key accountabilities

  • Ensure all invoices are posted to the correct site and/or statutory company.
  • Regular review of aged creditors to ensure suppliers are paid on time.
  • Manage payments according to BACs and/or Priority Payment
  • Reconcile supplier statements, investigating and solving any variances.
  • Allocate all payments in timely manner.
  • Assist with yearend audit and the preparation of the company's statutory account.
  • Any other ad hoc work
Skills & experience

  • Initiative and a cando attitude are essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of working to tight reporting deadlines
  • Experience of Sage would be advantageous.
