JOB PURPOSE
To support our Care Leaver or Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children to thrive as they move into independence.


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Relevant paid or unpaid experience of working with care leavers with social care setting or similar
  • Providing support services to young people leaving care
  • Experience of behavioural work with children/young people and their carers
  • Knowledge of child development
  • Knowledge of home safety issues
  • Knowledge of organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to work creatively
  • Knowledge of basic child behavioural techniques
  • Knowledge of the needs of older children
  • Ability to communicate clearly with children, young people, parents and other professionals
  • Ability to work with a range of professionals and engage in multidisciplinary work
  • Commitment to preventative work and demonstrable improved outcomes for children, young people and parents
  • To have good Time management / Organisational skills
  • Able to produce clear, accurate records and reports
  • Able to analyse information to reach sound decisions often under pressure and take responsibility for their outcomes and regular reporting to the team manager
  • Ability to travel to service points within Leicestershire County Council in a costefficient way
  • Possession of a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle however a reasonable adjustment will be considered for an applicant with a disability
  • Must be able to perform all duties and tasks with reasonable adjustment where appropriate in accordance with the provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act 199
  • Availability to work outside normal office hours including possible early mornings, evenings and weekends
