Want to help build a world that works better for everyone? Kin + Carta is a global digital transformation consultancy that makes a difference to the billions who now work, play, shop, communicate and share online.

Join a global team of curious and diverse minds in connecting people, data and technology to produce amazing experiences for some of the world's most influential companies.

Become a maker, builder or creator as we explore the possibilities of sustainable digital technology, helping clients to rapidly innovate, modernise their systems, enable their teams, and optimise for continued growth.

We focus on tech but we're a proudly inclusive business with trust and human connection at its heart.

People, the planet, and profit matter equally to us which is why we're a certified B Corporation in the United States and Europe.

With additional offices in South America, there is a place for you here wherever you're based.

The role in a nutshell:

As part of the team you'll be working on products and services for some of the world's most influential companies.

We partner with our clients and are involved all the way from planning through to execution, being an advocate for the user at every step of the way.

As a Senior User Experience Designer at Kin + Carta you'll help the team to make informed design decisions, placing the needs of the user and the business at the centre of every piece of work.

In your role you'll be critical to every project you are working on; able to draw on your breadth of knowledge of user experience design principles and research methodologies to influence and lead many of the project's design decisions.

You'll also be mentoring other designers, both in day-to-day project activities and as part of more formal career development across the Design team.

What you can expect:

As a Lead Experience Designer you will provide guidance to teams and empower all our designers to produce work of exceptional quality that they are proud of.

You'll be ambitious and passionate about UX Research and have an overall understanding of all the design roles that contribute to product development.

You will be the key point of contact for any project issues, helping to guide and inform client decisions.

You will be given the autonomy, visibility and opportunity to make your mark on how we solve complex design briefs, whilst also remaining hands-on across projects at Kin + Carta.

You will be comfortable coaching and mentoring other members of the design team and may even be tasked with providing management to more junior members of the practice.

The type of person we'd like to meet:

  • You're a great communicator and story-teller.
  • You enjoy working in a collaborative, multi disciplinary team.
  • You respond well to change and thrive in an innovative environment.
  • Able to demonstrate extensive experience of developing and executing UX strategy
  • You are comfortable working with ambiguity and comfortable with a lack of detail at times.
  • Comfortable working with executive level client stakeholders
  • Able to demonstrate a strong level of experience within research and user testing
  • Experience working within agency or consultancy similar to Kin + Carta
  • Some experience of Service Design would be advantageous
  • You're passionate about your craft and you're confident in sharing your knowledge with a wide audience.
  • Are a master of your craft, enabling the team to deliver on challenges that are new to them.
  • Are the gatekeeper for the quality of the work and research produced by the Design team.
  • Set the UX Research and Design agenda and help plan the cadence for the whole team.
  • Coach other Experience Designers and researchers to rapidly progress their careers and support them in their contribution to Kin + Carta.
  • Help plan the careers of team members, and guide individuals to reach senior level faster than they thought possible
  • Experience of using Figma, Google Suite and a variety of prototyping tools. Happy to learn new tools
